What is the essential element in launching a successful Saitama local film?
In this program, we explore the elements of the worldwide success of Crayon Shin-chan (set in Kasukabe City, Saitama) including its setting and how the local community played a vital role in the success of the film. The event features a screening of 8000 miles, a winner of Grand Prix at Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival Off Theater Section, and a post screening discussion with the director and a case study for the film produced with various support made available by Fukaya Film Commission. Also featuring is a premiere screening of Kobaton The Movie, a promotional film for Saitama Prefecture about traditional craft in Saitama created by filmmakers based in Saitama.
