The year is 1943. Martina is an eight-years-old child living on the slopes of Monte Sole. She has stopped talking since her brother died years earlier. Martina's mother becomes pregnant again and a baby is born. But the war suddenly interrupts their lives and Martina decides to escape with her newborn brother.

Dritti learned about filmmaking while working with a number of Italian directors as a casting director. His first short film, Cappello da marinaio (1990), was shown at numerous international film festivals including Clermont-Ferrand. His debut feature, The Wind Blows Round (2005), has screened at over 60 international film festivals, winning 36 awards. His second feature film, The Man Who Will Come (2009), received 16 nominations at the David of Donatello (the Italian Oscars) and won 3 awards for Best Film, Best Producer, and Best Sound Editor.
