A Film Adaptation of a Hit Musical with the Sound of the 80s!
Davy, a son of Rab and Jean, a married couple of 25 years, returns home to Leith, Scotland from Afghanistan after finishing his military service. The family is reunited and his sister Liz and her boyfriend Ally join the celebration. But each family member has a problem of their own. At the silver wedding anniversary of Rab and Jean, an incident happens.

Fletcher started his career as an actor and appeared in numerous films such as Bugsy Malone (1976), The Elephant Man (1980), and Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels (1998). He made a directorial debut with Wild Bill (2011), which was nominated for the Feature Length Competition of SKIP CITY INTERNATIONAL D-Cinema FESTIVAL 2012. The film was chosen as Best First Feature Length Film Screenplay by Writers' Guild of Great Britain and was nominated for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer at BAFTA. Sunshine on Leith is his second directorial film. He is currently producing Provenance in collaboration with BBC.
