Born 1986 in Saitama, Takahashi began making films while attending Keio University. In 2010, he joined Nippon Television Network Corporation and worked his way up from assistant director to director on variety shows. He began making independent films after realizing that there was no opportunity at the TV station if he wanted to make a film. After All, My Dad is his first feature film.
