ENJOY OUTDOOR SCREENINGS

In celebration of the 15th anniversary, outdoor screenings will be held over three consecutive evenings, featuring three masterpieces associated with Isao Takahata, who passed away this April. Enjoy with your family and friends.

With her grandmother gone away on a trip, Mimiko is living alone at a house in the bamboo forest. Pan-chan and his father Papanda join her and they start living together.

Panda Kopanda Rainy Day Circus (35min.)

Papanda and Pan-chan live happily with Mimiko. One day, they are joined by a tiger cub escaped from a circus. They take the cub back to the circus and get invited to see the show. After a fun evening, rain comes down, flooding the entire town!

Sherlock Hound: Blue Ruby & Treasure Under the Sea (46min.)

Based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes series, Sherlock Hound is a masterpiece animation series where almost all the characters are depicted as anthropomorphic dogs. Detective Sherlock Hound, with his trademark pipe in the mouth, and his loyal companion Dr. Watson, solve crimes with their intelligence and brilliant analytical skills.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Kenichiro Tanimoto, a star of “Hook Book Row”, an NHK Educational TV program, and Mayu Ito, the 4th “exercise lady” from “Okaasan to issho” will join us at the festival! Enjoy music and street performance, juggling, a puppet show, and more. Also featuring performances by the local marching band, baton twirling and hip-hop dancing.
