A poignant tale of love and hate about two best friends, Yvonne and Sophie who work at the same factory and share the same birthday. Yvonne marries her long time boyfriend Gordon, but Sophie is secretly in love with him as well.
Director/Gavin Lin Gavin Lin’s short film Liberty Avenue won the First Prize and Best Editing at Golden Harvest Awards from which Ang Lee, Tsai Ming-Liang also made their debuts. Lin’s first feature In Case of Love, released in 2010, earned him a reputation for making heart-warming films. Lin was a selected participant at Pusan Asian Film Academy and also a recipient of the Superior Award at Kawasaki International Digital Film Festival. He has been invited to many film festivals including: Female Makes Wave Festival, Uruguay International Film Festival of Film Schools, Peking Graduate School Forum and Yugoslav Museum of Cinematography. |

A story about young boys who dare to dream against all odds. While playing a soccer game, Manuel and his friends kick the ball into a minefield. As they try to figure out how to retrieve the precious gift from Manuel’s father, a shadow of guerrilla war begins to threaten their village.
Director/Carlos César Arbeláez Carlos César Arbeláez, a native of Antioquia, Columbia, studied screenwriting at the International School of Cinema at San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba) and the ENERC (the National School of Cinematic Experimentation and Production) in Argentina. He directed more than a dozen documentaries for television including: three episodes for “Muchachos a lo Bien (Good Boys)” which won a prize for Best Documentary Series for Television at the International Festival of Film and Television in Cartagena and “Cómo llegar al Cielo (How to Get to Heaven)” which gained an honorable mention from the “Para Verte Mejor”, organized by Comfenalco-Antioquia. |

The Mufti of Rwanda, the most respected Muslim leader in the country issues a fatwa forbidding Muslims from participating in the killing of the Tutsi. A moving film about human resilience based on true events.
Director/Alrick Brown Alrick Brown holds an MFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. During his service as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cote d’Ivoire, his creative expression; first fostered by his birth in Jamaica and migration to and upbringing in the US, was fully formed. He graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in English and a masters degree in Education. His short films have been screened at over forty film festivals and received numerous awards. He received the HBO Life Through Your Lens Emerging Filmmaker Award for their documentary Death of Two Sons. Kinyarwanda marks Brown’s feature film directorial debut. |
