Masao is a skipjack pole-and-line fisherman and lives with his mother and his son Yusuke. His mother dies and Masao and Yusuke are left behind. Masao is disturbed by Yusuke who keeps making troubles.Masao f inally makes a decision that changes their lives forever.

Director／Morito Okumura
Born 1978 in Okayama, Okumura worked as a reporter for a local newspaper in Kochi for eight years. He decided to become a filmmaker and moved to Tokyo when he was thirty one. He studied filmmaking at The Film School of Tokyo while working for various productions shot on 16mm and 35mm serving as a crew member. Out to Sea is his first feature film.
