Janko returns to his deserted village after several years of living in Belgrade, working minimum wage jobs. His mother is overjoyed to see his son back, but Janko is already plotting to leave his forsaken home.

Born in 1980, Pusic studied directing at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia. He directed a short film Lullaby For a Boy, which screened and won awards at numerous short film festivals. In 2009, he made his feature film debut with Autumn in My Street, which premiered as a competition entry at Sarajevo International Film Festival and won several awards at Cinema City (in Serbia). Withering is his second feature film, premiered at Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
