Thomas is a world famous singer-songwriter. When he travels back to Denmark to record a new album, he meets his grown-up daughter Julie. She leaves suddenly, announcing she is checking herself into rehab, leaving Noa, the grandson Thomas barely knows, under his care.

Fisher Christensen graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 1999. Her directorial debut A Soap had its world premiere at Berlin International Film Festival in 2006 and was awarded Silver Bear and the Best Debut Film Award. In 2010, she once again earned success at Berlin International Film Festival with A Family, which was honored with the FIPRESCI prize. Someone You Love is her fourth feature film.
