Siblings of the Cape (18) received critical acclaim from home and abroad and impressed film fans. The director, Shinzo Katayama, after becoming known as a promising filmmaker, has directed his second feature, Missing. Lead actor Jiro Sato convincingly expresses the struggles and inconsistencies of Satoshi, who disappears after he has seen the fugitive; Sato perfectly suits his role, which combines endless intensity and comicality. Aoi Ito plays daughter Kaede, who looks for her missing father; her delicate portrayal of a strong and honest but vulnerable young person will impress the viewers. Combining commercial and auteuristic instincts, the film targeted the international market and was selected for the 26th Busan International Film Festival New Currents section, where it received great acclaim from Korean audiences. With an unpredictable story that challenges the viewers’  values, and sensitive and realistic performances from the cast, Katayama’s well-thought-out drama, born through repeated self-questioning, reveals the viewer’s  own innermost struggles and inconsistencies.
