During the First Intifada in 1989, young Israeli soldiers are sent to the Gaza Strip every day. One day during a routine patrol, a washing machine pushed off the top of a building kills one of the soldiers.

Director/Yariv Horowitz
Born 1971 in Israel, Horowitz was drafted to the Israel Defense Forces at the age of 18 and served as a photographer, editor and director in the Educational Corps' Film Department. After completing his service, he started directing music videos and moved on to direct TV shows. He also directed many commercials in Israel, Europe and the US, and a number of documentary films that were sold to Channel 4 and the Sundance Channel. In 2012, he was elected Chairman of the Directors Guild of Israel. Rock the Casbah is his first feature film and is based on personal experience from his military service.
